DHL: growth of express transport
On-line product sales are boosting imports into France and, accordingly, express delivery transport. DHL turnover in 2013 has increased.
There is nothing surprising about that: on-line sales are growing quickly, especially in France where the sales periods or the year's end festivities cause the growth of home deliveries. This has been observed by DHL which generates between 5 and 6% of its turnover in France, one of its leading destinations, along with China, the United States, Germany and Italy. The German company has seen its home deliveries increased by 25% in 2013, essentially because of on-line sales.
